I agree, there is something about that first screen shot. I don't know if it is the symmetry, the sense of things being at rest after the battle, the color contrast between the player and the defeated boss, or the fact that there is a chicken in it that makes it cross the line into art, but it is a very nice shot.

The new LFG Tool is is probably breathing new life into the old dungeons, like Maraudon and Dire Maul, which even in the pre 1.10 days got very little traffic. You could spend an entire evening LFMing for DM or Mara and never actually get into a Run.

So...that hotly anticipated MMO...that wouldn't be Harvest Moon: Online by any chance, would it? ;)

I'm with you on the "burned out on straight missions" thing. I specifically trained up market skills to be able to do that, yet.... I can't bring myself to do the whole spreadsheet thing in order to actually play the market. I've done a few things here and there and made some respectable profits, but nothing major and I don't care to try to sit in Jita or some other regional market while reviewing price trends.

Oddly enough, I like doing "fantasy stock market" IRL, but in EVE it bores the crap out of me. Go figure.

AoC animations are really great. It looks like real people moving, they did a great job. After seeing AoC it's hard to look at my LOTRO avatars jerkily snapping about like they have epilepsy. And of course you can burn things, my DDO mage is fire too, :) And in DA:O hmmm i see a pattern here.

I love the LFG tool in WoW, it makes it so simple to get into a group and actually DO something. I think that this feature could really help a LOT of games out there that are group-dependent in order to get things done. Of course you still run into a nice selection of bad groups, but I bet there's enough good ones out there to counter that.

Looking forward to reading about that beta!

"how many games have you start off with amnesia as a thin plot device?"

I believe they are hoping you'll forget all the ones that have done it before.

It's older than Planescape: Torment. It was a recurrent theme in Ravenloft, an Advanced Dungeons and Dragons settings and I found this huge list of amnesia-themed computer games going back to 1984:
