In the next major update, KingsIsle’s Wizard101 will, for the first time, allow players to purchase gifts, for real money, for people on their friend lists.

Where once crowds of new characters would beg for treasure cards, now the beggars have entirely new things for which to beg. All of these are based on actual things heard within the space of a few minutes in Wizard City Commons on the Test server.

  1. Your Cthulhu card made me sad all over again that none of my friends will play PnP games like “Call of Cthulhu” with me and there is no kind of horror MMO out there. When World of Warcraft is the MMO with the most Lovecraft influence, something’s wrong with the world. I love me some WoW, but we need a Necronomicon Online.

    I remember Call of Cthulhu! Your hero would be constantly struggling against madness. Adventures were seeing how much evil you could defeat before you went mad :) Classic stuff.
