Still a ways away from having a battleship fitted out. When EFT vets a build for me, I’ll start flying them — and I’ll definitely be asking for help!

*******

Slap a passive shield on your Myrm and I'll be grabbing aggro anyway. We won't get you killed. Well.. not unless you go grabbing aggro yourself. Still.. a Myrm can tank a L4, assuming you can fit active hardeners. Believe it or not, a passive shield tank on a Myrm is stronger and easier to fit than an active armor tank, in spite of the ship's bonus to armor repair.

Did I mention I fit a shield transporter in a utility high? And if you can't shield tank and prefer to armor it up, I can swap out the shield repper for an armor repper instead. Believe me, we won't get you killed. . . . . .

First guy was thieving. Second guy was deliberately baiting me so I would attack, so he could kill me.

If he could come back with a powerful ship, why doesn't he just go make his own salvage?

What I REALLY should have done is warp off and let them deal with the aggro. Come back in my PvP cruiser if they were still there.

one way of dealing with ninja salvages is to pop your own wrecks if they are looting them, i know it seems a waste but its quite funny when a ninja salvager is mouthing of at you in local for ruining his ninja loot :), im also around the tash murkon, domain, kador regions, so if help is needed and im on you can look me up, although im on UK time.

I mean it when I say I'd be willing to JumpClone close to you and run some L4's with you. Ardwulf can vouch for me as not being someone who'd lure you into a trap to kill you. I didn't for him, anyway, even when he turned flashy red to me becuz I let him salvage AND loot the wrecks afterward. Of course, by then I was in my unarmed salvage ship myself (unarmed except for a flight of light drones, anyway), so I couldn't have done much to him even if I'd wanted to.

Still.... you have my IG name now, so convo me if you wanna run some L4's sometime.

Whoa, thanks for the links :)

My current Myrmidon build is actually pretty good at L3 missions. My big thing is trying to get my battleship skills up so I CAN do Level 4s. I have large guns, heavy drones and a wide variety of resistance skills in my skill plan. Occasionally I take a battleship on a Level 3 mission and am disappointed by my lack of skills in that department :(

EVE Central is new to me, I'll have to take a look :) THANKS!!!

Congrats on the bit of diplomacy with CVA.

Commiserations on the loss of another ship. Thieves scanning down mission runners really sucks. It seems to be endemic in any of the heavily populated mission hubs.

If you have an ounce of nerd in you Tipa (Which I know you have) EVE is the ultimate playground. There is so much info out there that you can lose yourself in spreadsheets for a lifetime. Nerd method of getting through a mission: Use the mission guides at Eve.info to work out exactly how much dps each wave in a mission can output. Use EFT to tank your boat to survive that amount of DPS indefinitely then use whatever resources you have left over for weapons.

Sadly eve.info's mission database doesn't seem to be working at the moment. I hope its not down for good as it gave very detailed information about each wave of attackers including dps figures.

Other useful sites you may not have stumbled across:

http://eve-survival.org/ Eve survival mission reports are not as detailed as eve.infos but are useful if you don't want the numbers.

http://eve-agents.com/ If you want to do a lot of mission running then you need to work up to a high quality high level combat focussed agent in 0.5 space for maximum rewards. Not every corporation or faction has such an agent so it is worth planning ahead by selecting which faction you are going to grind rep for. Level 5 missions used not be soloable. I don't know if this is still the case.

http://eve-central.com/ - an offline market browser with the ability to find profitable trade routes. Its a very useful tool although you have to remember the information lags real time and that any very sweet trade routes will quickly be snapped up by all the other users of EVE central.
